RE: Experience is helpful, but starting small is the key ~Paul Zenjipyverakol 12.Feb.03 10:18 PM a Web browser Sametime Developers Toolkit 2.5Windows NT/2000
Hi Michael!
Thanks for the quick response :-)
At the moment, I have a client/server configuration at home, for my development purposes. The client PC is running Windows 98 SE, Lotus Notes Client 5.0.10, and Sametime Connect 2.5. The server is running Windows 2000 Professional, has Domino Server 5.0.10 installed, and also has Sametime Server 2.5 installed and integrated with that.
I have created 3 Notes IDs - one for myself (a standard user), one for the Notes Admin (with an entry in the ACL of every DB), and one for the Notes Sametime Bot (with manager access to my back-end Notes DB).
As I say, my Java programming knowledge is somewhat limited at the moment, and has involved a steep learning curve, which is probably why this project is moving so slowly for me.
It is necessary that my bot is a Java-based Sametime Bot, as this is part of the criteria of my project. However, if I may, I would like to take you up on your kind offer of letting me look at your modified EightBallBot code.
Despite all the documentation I have read regarding Sametime Bots, I have found that studying, working through and understanding code examples is the best way for me to learn how to do what I wish to achieve.
Therefore, if I could have a look at your modified EightBallBot code, that would be a great help to me indeed. I would very much appreciate that. My e-mail address is:
